Falafel Tacos With Cheesy Curd Dip : Middle Eastern Cuisine Meets Mexican!

Ingredients :-

For tacos:-
  1. Cornmeal or maize flour – 1/4 cup
  2. All purpose flour – 1/4 cup
  3. Oil – as preferred
  4. Salt – to taste
For dip:-
  1. Yogurt – 1/2 cup
  2. Sesame seeds – 1tbsp
  3. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  4. White pepper powder – 1/2 tbsp
  5. White vinegar – 2 tbsp
  6. Oil – 1 tbsp
  7. Salt – to taste
  8. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  9. Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  10. Grated cheese – 1 tbsp
For falafel:-
  1. Soaked overnight and boiled chickpeas – 1 cup
  2. Chopped onion – 1
  3. Chopped garlic – 2
  4. Coriander chopped – 1 tbsp
  5. Cumin seeds powder – 1 tbsp
  6. Flour for binding – 2 tbsp
  7. Salt – to taste
  8. Oil – to fry

Method:-

For tacos:-
  1.  Mix maize flour and all purpose flour together. Add 2 tbsp of mohun (heated oil) and knead a dough.
  2. Roll it like normal parathas and fry them in oil by holding the two ends closer.
For dip:-
  1. Prepare hung yogurt by taking a muslin cloth, add yogurt in it and hang it in a corner so that the water from yogurt is drained.
  2. Roast some sesame seeds, semi crush it add all the ingredients in it and mix well. Dip is ready.
For falafel:-
  1. In a blender pot add soaked and boiled chickpeas and other ingredients except flour and blend till a coarse mix is formed.
  2. Add flour in this mixture and prepare medium sized patties.
  3. Fry these patties till golden brown.
In tacos, arrange these readied falafel, add some seasoning or some dressing of your choice. You can also drizzle a bit of olive oil and serve with the curd dip.
