Fruity Surprise : Sapota Barfi!



  1. Peeled Sapota (chiku) – 4
  2. Sweetened milk contain (mawa) – 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar – 2 tbsp
  4. Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  5. Sapota essence – 1 drop
  6. Brown food color – 1/2 tsp
  7. Vegetable oil – as preferred
For garnishing:-
Pistachio powder, almonds and cashew nuts.


  1. Mash the Sapota pulp completely.
  2. Heat this pulp, add vegetable oil in it and mix well.
  3. Once ready, pour it in a bowl and keep it aside.
  4. In another pan, add milk contain and heat it till it becomes light brown in colour.
  5. Add sugar in it, mix well and let it heat for some time.
  6. Add readied Sapota mixture, cardamon powder, Sapota essence, edible brown colour and mix well.
  7. Grease a plate with oil, pour the prepared batter in it and let it cool.
  8. Cut into different shapes once it has cooled and has set in.
  9. Garnish with pistachio powder, almonds and cashew nuts and serve cold.
