Prepare Instant Medu Vada With This Recipe Of Potato Medu Vada!


  1. Mashed potatoes – 3 cups
  2. Rice flour – 1/2 cup
  3. Bread crumbs – 3 tbsp
  4. Finely chopped onion – 1/2 cup
  5. Chilli ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  6. Sambar masala – 2 tsp
  7. Sour curd – 1 cup
  8. Finely chopped coriander – 2 tbsp
  9. Cumin Seeds – 1 tbsp
  10. Salt – to taste
  11. Oil – to fry
  12. Dry mango powder – 2 tsp
For accompaniments:-
Coconut chutney and sambar


  1. In a bowl mix mashed potatoes rice flour and bread crumbs well.
  2. Add chilli ginger garlic paste, chopped onion, salt and mix well.
  3. Add sour curd and mix well. Add required water if the dough mixture seems too dry.
  4. Prepare medium sized balls of the prepared dough and poke a finger in its centre giving it a shape of a ring or a doughnut.
  5. Once prepared, deep fry these balls till golden brown and serve hot with the coconut chutney and sambar.
For a healthier version you can bake these in the oven at 175 degrees for 10 minutes or till they are golden brown in colour from both the sides.
