Presenting Healthy Whole Wheat Tikkis

Ingredients:-

  1. Ready whole wheat rotis – 5 – 7
  2. Ready cooked rice – 1/2 cup
  3. Par boiled carrots and cabbage – 2 tbsp
  4. Red chilli – 1 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  6. Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
  7. Dry mango powder – 1 tsp
  8. Salt – to taste
  9. Chaat masala – 1 tsp
  10. Black pepper powder – 1 tsp
  11. Oil – 2 tsp
  12. Punjabi masala – 1 tsp
  13. Finely chopped coriander – 1 tbsp
  14. Toast powder or bread crumbs – 1 cup
  15. Sugar (optional) – 1 tsp
For accompaniments :-
Green chutney and ketchup

Method:-

  1. Heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and wait till it crackles.
  2. Add par boiled carrots and cabbage, and mix well.
  3. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, dry mango powder, Punjabi masala, mix well and let it cool down.
  4. Prepare a mixture of crushed rotis and cooked rice and add it into the previous mixture.
  5. Add finely chopped coriander, and prepare medium sized tikkis.
  6. Cover these tikkis in toast powder or bread crumbs and toast on a non stick pan till both sides become golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve these tikkis hot in a serving plate along with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
