Rainy Delights : Cabbage And Spinach Pakoras



  1. All purpose flour – 1 cup
  2. Chickpea flour – 1/2 cup
  3. Semolina – 2 tbsp
  4. Sour curd – 2 cups
  5. Chilli ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  6. Finely chopped cabbage – 1/2 cup
  7. Chopped onion – 2 tbsp
  8. Chopped spinach – 1/4 cup
  9. Finely chopped coriander – 1 tbsp
  10. Grated carrot – 1 tbsp
  11. Salt – to taste
  12. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  13. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  14. Garam masala – 2 tsp
  15. Coriander seeds – 2 tbsp
  16. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  17. Sugar – 2 tsp
  18. Baking soda – 2 tsp
  19. Oil – 2 tbsp
  20. Water – as preferred
For accompaniments :-
Green chutney and tomato sauce


  1. In a bowl mix all the flours thoroughly.
  2. Add finely chopped vegetables, sour curd, chilli ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  3. Add all the dry spices, salt, lemon juice, and add water as per requirement and mix well.
  4. Keep this batter aside for an hour.
  5. Heat some oil in deep pan and add baking soda in the batter and mix well.
  6. Make pakoras by deep frying small amounts of the batter in the heated oil.
  7. Serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
