Saturday Dinner Special : Lemon Rice



  1. Rice – 1 cup
  2. Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  3. Chilli ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  4. Curry leaves – 8 to 10 leaves
  5. Cumin seeds and mustard seeds – 2 tsp each
  6. White gram – 2 tbsp
  7. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  8. Oil – 2 tbsp
  9. Chopped garlic cloves  – 2 tsp
  10. Salt  – to taste
For garnishing:-
Lemon rind and chopped coriander


  1. Cook rice separately.
  2. Heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and wait till the seeds crackle.
  3. Add white gram, curry leaves, chilli ginger garlic paste, chopped garlic and saute well.
  4. Add lemon juice and turmeric powder and mix well.
  5. Add cooked rice and mix slowly and carefully so as to not smash them rice.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander and lemon rind and serve hot.
