Saturday Night Special – Italian Lasagne!



For lasagna sheet:-
1. All purpose flour – 1 cup
2. Raw spinach paste – 1 cup
3. Green chilli paste – 1 tsp.
4. Oil/ vegetable oil/ butter – 2 tsp.
5. Salt – to taste.
For white sauce:-
6. All purpose flour – 2 tbsp.
7. Milk – 2 cups.
8. Salt – to taste.
9. Ground black pepper – 1 tsp.
10. Sugar – 1 tsp.
11. Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp.
For gravy:-
12. Tomatoes – 2 big.
13. Onions – 3.
14. Garlic paste – 1 tsp.
15. Mixed Italian herbs – 2 tsp.
16. Ground black pepper – 1 tsp.
17. Garam Masala – 1 tsp.
18. Turmeric and chilli powder – 1 tsp.
19. Salt – to taste.
20. Oil – 2 tbsp.
21. Mixed Italian herbs – 2 tsp.
For garnishing:-
Cheese and tomato ketchup.


1. Add salt in the all purpose flour, spinach puree and add mohun in it and prepare a paratha like dough.
2. Make a thin, round roti, cut medium sized strips and keep it aside.
3. In a pan add a little all purpose flour, add a little vegetable oil (ghee) in it, mix properly and roast it for a minute.
4. Slowly add milk in the pan and keep stirring while the milk is being added till it becomes thick.
5. Add salt, pepper and sugar, mix properly and then turn off the gas stove.
6. In another pan, heat some oil and add chopped onions, tomato puree, ground garlic paste and saute.
7. Add masala and let it cook, stir and add lasagne strips in it.
8. In a baking bowl greased with butter or oil, add the masala gravy with lasagne strip, add white sauce layer over it, add grated cheese and create a checkered pattern with remaining lasagne strips.
9. Bake it in the oven for 8 – 10 minutes at around 150 – 175 degrees.
10. Garnish with chilli flakes and oregano and serve.
