Sesame Rice : A Twist In The Rice!

Ingredients :-

  1. Rice – 3 bowls
  2. Sesame seeds – 1 bowl
  3. Red chillies – 5 to 6
  4. Cashew nuts – 50 gm
  5. Peanuts – 1/2 bowl
  6. Lemon juice – 1 lemon
  7. Curry leaves – 2 to 3 twigs
  8. Urad dal – 1 tsp
  9. Green chickpeas – 1 tbsp
  10. Asafoetida and salt – as required
  11. Onion (caramelized) – 1 onion
  12. Vegetable oil – for tempering the
For garnishing :-
Caramelized Onion

Method :-

  1. Cook rice with salt, strain the water once it is cooked and keep it aside.
  2. In a wok, fry cashews and curry leaves.
  3. Saute sesame seeds till golden and add it into the cooked rice along with fried cashews, curry leaves and mix well.
  4. Prepare temper with vegetable oil, asafoetida, add it to the rice and mix well.
  5. Garnish with caramelized Onion and serve hot.
