Spicy Tuesday: Mini Idlis In Spicy Red Sauce!



  1. Ready mini idlis – 20 to 25
  2. Chopped onion – 2
  3. Garlic paste – 8 to 10
  4. Finely chopped capsicum – 1/2 cup
  5. Chopped tomatoes – 2
  6. Salt – to taste
  7. Oil – 1 tbsp
  8. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  9. Punjabi masala – 2 tsp
  10. Lemon flower – 1 tsp
  11. Red chilli paste – 2 tsp
  12. Green chillies – 1 tsp
For garnishing:-
Finely chopped coriander


  1. Prepare mini idlis by pouring spoonfuls of Idli batter in greased appam patra and steaming it.
  2. Make a paste of onion and  garlic.
  3. Prepare a thick tomato puree.
  4. Heat some oil in a pan and add garlic onion paste, and saute well.
  5. Add tomato puree and chopped capsicum.
  6. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Punjabi masala, lemon flower, red chilli paste and mix well till it thickens.
  7. Add mini idlis in the sauce and mix in such a way that all the idlis are coated in the sauce.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander, sev and serve hot.
