Start Your Day With This Healthy Breakfast Of Vermicelli Upma!

Ingredients:-

  1. Vermicelli – 1 cup
  2. Finely chopped green chillies – 2 tsp
  3. Vertically chopped onion – 2 tbsp
  4. Split white gram  (urad dal) Р1 tbsp
  5. Mustard seeds and cumin seeds – 1 tsp each
  6. Curry leaves – 8 to 10
  7.  Asafoetida Р1/2 tsp
  8. Salt – to taste
  9. Turmeric powder – 2 tsp
  10. Chaat masala – 1 tsp
  11. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  12. Finely chopped coriander – 2 tsp
  13. Dessicated coconut – 2 tsp
  14. Oil – 2 tbsp
For garnishing:-
Red chilli powder, chopped coriander, and dessicated coconut.

Method:-

  1. Boil some water in a bowl, add Vermicelli in it.
  2. Once the Vermicelli is cooked, add cold water on it.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and wait till it crackles.
  4. Add split white gram and wait till it becomes rosy.
  5. Add curry leaves, chopped chillies, asafoetida, cut onion and wait till it becomes golden brown.
  6. Add salt, turmeric powder, Chaat masala, lemon juice, dessicated coconut and mix well.
  7. Finally add boiled Vermicelli, mix well and add chopped coriander.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander, red chilli powder, dessicated coconut and serve hot.
