This Recipe Of Poha Dhokla Is All You Need On A Sunday Morning!



  1. Poha (flattened/beaten rice) – 250 g.
  2. Curd (sour and thick) – 125 g.
  3. Oil – 1 teaspoon.
  4. Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon.
  5. Green chillies (paste) – 10.
  6. Curry leaves – 6-8
  7. Asafoetida (hing) – a pinch.
  8. Garam masala – 1 teaspoon.
  9. Turmeric powder (haldi) – 1/4 teaspoon.
  10. Coriander – 1 tablespoon.
  11. Salt to taste.


  1. Rinse the poha (beaten rice) 3 – 4 times.
  2. Beat the curd till it is smooth in texture.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan add mustard seeds, chopped chillies, ginger, curry leaves, and asafoetida. Wait till it crackles and add the beaten curd to it.

4. Add garam masala, salt, turmeric to the curd and add mix properly.
5. Add the rinsed poha to the curd.
6. Stir the mixture properly till it is thick.
7. Try the spoon test (let the spoon stay in the mixture and see if it stands still in the mixture on its own).

The mixture should be thick enough for the spoon to stand steady. (this is the actual mixture).

8. Oil a dish and add the mixture to it and spread it.



9. Let it cool, garnish it with coriander and cut medium pieces of it and serve!
